The Mistake of Turning Away from the Quran

(11:3)

And [saying], "Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, [and] He will let you enjoy a good provision for a specified term and give every doer of favor his favor. But if you turn away, then indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great Day.

(25:30)

29. He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."

30. And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."

31.And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals.(disbelievers, polytheists etc.) But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.

(74:49)

49.What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder,

50.As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys.

51.Fleeing from a lion?

(53:29)

So avoid those who turn away from Our remembrance and desire nothing but the life of the world.

(43:36)

We assign a devil to be the companion of him who turns a blind eye to the remembrance of the All-beneficent.

(20:124)

But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Quran nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection."

(72:17)

16.If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance

17.That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell).

(62:5)

The likeness of those who were entrusted with the Taurat (Torah), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example of people who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.).

(51:9)

He who has been turned away [from the truth] is turned away from it.

(25:73)

And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.

(32:22)

And who does more wrong than he who is reminded of the Ayat of his Lord, then he turns aside therefrom? Verily, We shall exact retribution from the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.).

(38:67-68)

Say: "That (this Quran) is a great news,

"From which you turn away!

(17:89)

And indeed We have fully explained to mankind, in this Quran, every kind of similitude, but most mankind refuse (the truth and accept nothing) but disbelief.

(6:157)

Or lest you should say: "If only the Book had been sent down to us, we would surely have been better guided than they." So now has come unto you a clear proof (the Quran) from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy. Who then does more wrong than one who rejects the Ayat of Allah and turns away therefrom? We shall requite those who turn away from Our Ayat with an evil torment, because of their turning away (from them).

(20:126)

(Allah) will say: "Like this, Our Ayat came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allah's Mercy)."
