The Necessity of Following the Qur'an (Revelation)

(7:3)

[Say O Muhammad to these idolaters of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran, and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember!

(39:55)

"And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord (i.e. this Quran), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!"

(20:134)

And if We had destroyed them with a torment before this, they would surely have said: "Our Lord! If only You had sent us a Messenger, we should certainly have followed Your Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), before we were humiliated and disgraced."

(6:155)

And this is a blessed Book (the Qur'an) which We have sent down, so follow it and have Taqwa, so that you may receive mercy.

Prophet also only follows the Quran.

Whoever follows him follows the Quran.

(33:2)

Follow that which is revealed to you from your Lord. Indeed Allah is well aware of what you do.

(6:50)

Say, ‘I do not say to you that I possess the treasuries of Allah,

nor do I know the Unseen,

nor do I say to you that I am an angel.

I follow only what is revealed to me.’

Say, ‘Are the blind one and the seer equal? So do you not reflect?’

(6:106)

Follow that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, there is no god except Him(La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and turn away from the polytheists.

(10:15)

And when Our Clear Verses are recited unto them, those who hope not for their meeting with Us,

say: Bring us a Quran other than this, or change it."

Say: "It is not for me to change it on my own accord; I only follow that which is revealed unto me.

Verily, I fear if I were to disobey my Lord, the torment of the Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

(10:109)

And follow that which is revealed to you, and be patient until Allah issues [His] judgement, and He is the best of judges.

(46:9)

Say:"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allah) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you.   I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."

(34:50)

Say, ‘If I go astray, my going astray is only to my own harm, and if I am rightly guided that is because of what my Lord has revealed to me. Indeed He is all-hearing and nearmost.’

(7:203)

And if you do not bring them a miracle, they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Quran) is nothing but evidences from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.
