It means the One who responds to gratitude in a manner befitting His glory, who leaves no thank you unrewarded, who gives abundant reward for little deeds, and who multiplies the gratitude of the grateful person many times over. The word "Shakur," by its very nature, expresses such an exaggeration in responding to gratitude that it includes the meanings of "He who rewards not only the gratitude already given, but even the gratitude that might be given, many times over."
29.Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah (this Quran), and perform AsSalat (IqamatasSalat), and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) tradegain that will never perish.
30.That He may give them in full their rewards and increase for them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative.
The Helper, the One who provides unparalleled and unique help and support, whose help and support has no limit.
Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, criminals, etc.). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.
The problem for people is probably not so much accepting that Allah is the Helper (al-Nasir), but rather accepting that there is no Helper other than Allah, and the Quran strongly emphasizes that there is no Helper other than Allah.
122. But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to the Gardens under which rivers flow (i.e. in Paradise) to dwell therein forever. Allah's Promise is the Truth, and whose words can be truer than those of Allah? (Of course, none).
123. It will not be in accordance with your desires (Muslims), nor those of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), whosoever works evil, will have the recompense thereof, and he will not find any protector or helper besides Allah.
It means the One from whom His servants seek help, the sole source of help, the unique and unparalleled source of assistance.
[The Prophet] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe."
It means the Giver without recompense, the unique and unparalleled in bestowing gifts, the one from whom everything is requested without cost, the absolute and infinite giver.
8. Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment!
9. Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure(The Great Giver)?
The name Mevla means "the one from whom help and support are expected."
If they refuse, be sure that Allah is your Protector - the best to protect and the best to help.
In the event that the disbelievers turn away from the truth, Allah Almighty declares that He is the Mevla of the Muslims, that is, their "friend, companion, and helper."
And strive hard in Allah's cause as you ought to strive. He has chosen you, and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship: it is the religion of your father Ibrahim. He has named you Muslims both before and in this (Qur'an), that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So, perform the Salah, give the Zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your Mawla, what an Excellent Mawla and what an Excellent Helper!
The following verse also conveys to people that one should not seek helpers or supporters other than Allah, using the name "Mawla" (master/supporter):
He calls unto him whose harm is nearer than his profit; certainly, and evil Mawla (patron, master) and certainly an evil friend!
The use of the particle(in arabic) "men" in this verse, encompassing conscious beings, i.e., jinn or humans, shows that those invoked are not inanimate idols. This highlights the absurdity of some people today considering certain individuals superior and sinless, elevating them to a kind of god-like position of savior, and the profound warning this divine address gives on this matter.
The name Wali means the one who helps his loved ones and friends, who secures the affairs of the universe and its creatures, and who is the helper and ruler of all beings.
Or have they taken (for worship) Awliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.
